Here is more info on this day — the following is the standard timeline and protocols for every monthly service day. Please review everything below before your shift begins.
⏱️ Standard Monthly Timeline

SECTION 1: CODE OF CONDUCT & SAFETY PROTOCOLS
🦺 Attire & Personal Belongings
You must wear casual clothes, mandatory long pants, and closed-toe shoes. For your safety, shorts, sandals, and flip-flops are strictly prohibited. Store your personal belongings in the lounge cubbies with all zippers and bag straps fully tucked away so cats do not chew on them.
🐈 Resident Cat Safety (Low & Slow!)
The cats will be wandering around. Move slowly and watch your feet so no paws or tails get caught under brooms, buckets, or footsteps. Follow the "paws-off" rule: never wake, disturb, or force a cat to move if they are eating, drinking, or sleeping. Clean gently around them.
🚪 Double-Door Guarding
Always watch the entry and exit points closely. Enforce the strict "double-door" rule to make sure no cats slip out into the lobby or outdoors.
🧼 Cleaning & Waste Rules
We are strictly using a gentle, cat-safe vinegar and water solution today. Do not use outside chemicals. Litter-box scooping is optional, but volunteers who are comfortable helping are greatly appreciated. If you use paper towels to wipe up any floor or urine accidents, never throw them into the lounge, lobby, or restroom trash cans. Always dispose of them directly in the hallway trash to keep odors out of the main room.
📱 Phones & Incidents
Please keep your phones on silent. If you get a scratch or a bite, or if you notice a cat acting "off," notify a staff member or Shift Lead immediately. First aid kits are located under the sink in the Sink Room if needed.
SECTION 2: LIABILITY WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Assumption of Risk: I understand that volunteering at a cat lounge involves working around live animals. I acknowledge that cats are unpredictable and that participation in this cleaning and socialization event carries inherent risks, including but not limited to animal bites, scratches, animal-inflicted injuries, allergic reactions, slip-and-fall hazards, and exposure to cleaning elements. I voluntarily and explicitly assume all such risks.
Release and Hold Harmless: I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Feline Good Social Club (FGSC), its directors, officers, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of any loss, damage, personal injury, or sickness that I may sustain while participating in this volunteer event, whether caused by the negligence of FGSC or otherwise.
Medical Treatment: I understand that FGSC staff cannot provide professional medical treatment to volunteers due to liability. In the event of an injury, first aid supplies will be made available to me for self-administration. I accept full financial responsibility for any external medical treatment or care I may require as a result of my volunteer activities.
I have reviewed and understand the FGSC Lounge Safety Guidelines. I agree to follow them and willingly and voluntarily agree to the FGSC Release and Waiver of Liability.
