A Meowvelous Grand Reopening
February marked the grand reopening of Feline Good Social Club. After closing down in November and fostering the cats out, the lounge was able to start accepting visitors again. Our team of dedicated volunteers came together to get the place spic and span, ready for visitors to return and enjoy some much needed fun & relaxation with the FGSC kitties.
With 24 cats in residence on opening weekend, there were plenty of personalities for people to meet and greet. A trio of new kittens made their debut, while some fan favorites poured on the charm. The cats were thrilled to be able to see people again and were ready to mingle with guests.
Visitors were offered goodie bags as a thank-you for visiting. Inside were a variety of exciting treats, including a face mask, a magnet, a pair of kitty themed socks, pinbacks, and even custom printed M&M’s with the Feline Good logo. These treats were given out after sessions, as a way of thanking our supporters for coming back to see us.
The reopening was a great success. A good mix of newcomers and return visitors booked visits, especially on Sunday, February 14. People played with our cat residents, chatted with catpanions, and took lots of photos to document their adventures—including with a custom-made photo frame.
We even had a few special surprises over the weekend. An unexpected adoption saw Aria heading to her new home early. We also saw our first wedding proposal. She said yes, and the happy couple also said yes to adopting Mr. Darcy as part of their new family. Congratulations to the happy couple!
If you came to get giddy with a kitty on Valentine’s Day weekend, tell us about it. Make sure you share your photos and tag us on social media.
